NextStep Recruiting is supporting a national telecommunications organization in their search for an experienced Network Engineer to lead advanced infrastructure design and deployment projects with a focus on Cisco Meraki solutions. This is a key contract role requiring hands-on technical expertise, compliance awareness, and experience working in complex enterprise environments.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and implement Cisco Meraki and wireless LAN solutions across distributed environments, leveraging cloud-managed dashboards for centralized monitoring and support.
• Configure and troubleshoot wireless protocols including 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7), with deep understanding of RADIUS, WPA3, and 802.1x authentication mechanisms.
• Design segmented WAN/LAN architectures (access, distribution, core), optimize routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and lead SD-WAN implementations using Cisco and Meraki platforms.
• Apply expertise in protocols including CAPWAP, LWAPP, MPLS, LACP, STP, and ensure secure connectivity in high-availability environments.
• Support projects aligned to FedRAMP Moderate and StateRAMP frameworks, ensuring all networking solutions are compliant with FIPS 140-2 and federal security requirements.
• Drive secure cloud adoption for government clients by supporting modernization initiatives and ensuring end-to-end network visibility.

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity ideal for someone with deep Meraki experience, strong protocol knowledge, and a background supporting government cloud environments.
