Lead the Financial Backbone of a Trusted Texas Institution


A privately held, community-focused financial institution in West Central Texas is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct access to executive management and the opportunity to shape the financial integrity of a long-standing organization.

This role is ideal for a Controller who values stability, local decision-making, and relationship-driven banking over large, impersonal corporate environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, general ledger, and month-end close
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and audit requirements, including ownership of the Call Report
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory examinations
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and planning


 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA strongly preferred, not required)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; banking or financial services highly preferred
  • Prior Controller or senior accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory exams
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a closely held, relationship-driven organization
