NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a financial services organization to identify a Data Engineer (Risk Analytics) in the Dallas, TX area. This role is a contract position and will support the buildout of a scalable risk data infrastructure and reporting environment.

This position is ideal for a hands-on data engineer with a strong technical foundation who enjoys building systems from the ground up and working closely with business stakeholders. The right candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of translating complex financial data into actionable insights.

 

Required:

  • Strong experience designing data architecture, data models, and scalable database solutions
  • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for both real-time and batch data processing
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL within modern data engineering environments
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools such as Microsoft Fabric, AWS, or similar
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

 

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting risk analytics or financial data environments
  • Familiarity with trading workflows or risk concepts, such as market, credit, or operational risk
  • Experience building automated reporting or dashboard solutions using BI tools
  • Background in financial services or fintech environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex data challenges
