NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a nationally recognized organization to identify a Leave & Benefits Specialist in North Dallas. This is a six-month contract opportunity with the potential to extend and offers a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and Fridays remote. The role will primarily focus on leave administration while also providing support to the broader Benefits team.


This position is ideal for an experienced leave professional who is comfortable managing a high-volume caseload and understands the compliance and documentation requirements associated with complex, multi-state leave programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident partnering with employees, managers, HR, and third-party leave administrators.


Required:

  • 2+ years of hands-on leave administration experience with working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, parental leave, military leave, STD/LTD, and state-specific leave programs
  • Experience administering leave programs across multiple states and managing a high-volume caseload; experience supporting 200+ active claims is highly desirable
  • Experience partnering with third-party leave administrators and coordinating documentation, approvals, extensions, compliance requirements, and return-to-work processes
  • Strong understanding of leave compliance with experience preparing employee communications, including last-chance/compliance and termination correspondence
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage critical deadlines and confidential employee information


Preferred:

  • Workday experience is strongly preferred
  • Benefits administration experience, including open enrollment, new-hire eligibility, life event changes, terminations, and dependent eligibility verification
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, benefits vendors, payroll, and HR teams
  • Intermediate Excel skills with proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Adobe PDF
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and/or HR or benefits certification is nice to have
