Corporate Controller

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a privately-owned specialty finance company to find a Corporate Controller. An ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in GAAP-compliant financial reporting, audit readiness, and team leadership within the commercial equipment finance industry. This individual will collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth, ensure financial integrity, and drive continuous improvement in accounting processes.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA certification preferred
• 5+ years of Controllership-level accounting experience within the commercial equipment finance industry
• Experience leading annual financial audits and managing complex accounting functions
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Experience with commercial equipment lending software
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Background in debt covenant compliance and cash flow forecasting
