NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a client in Dallas, TX, to find a Controller to join their Finance and Accounting team!  

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close for real estate funds, joint ventures, and related entities, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate consolidations.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on investor reporting, fund performance analysis, budgeting, capital activity, and strategic initiatives.
• Manage cash, treasury activity, capital calls, and distributions while coordinating audits, tax support, and external advisor relationships.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, optimize processes and systems (including Yardi), and ensure timely, high-quality internal and external reporting.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an active CPA license.
• 12+ years of accounting experience, including real estate funds, partnerships, or investment company structures; public accounting background preferred.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Strong technical accounting, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on Yardi experience preferred, with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
