NextStep Recruiting is partnering with a confidential client seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support payroll processing, reporting, compliance, and employee payroll inquiries. This role will work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll is accurate, timely, and aligned with federal, state, and local requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll according to established deadlines, including timecard review, payroll audits, gross-to-net reconciliation, and final report validation
- Respond to employee payroll questions related to pay discrepancies, tax elections, direct deposit, deductions, garnishments, and payroll changes
- Partner with HR and Finance on employee changes, retro pay, off-cycle payroll needs, payroll journal entries, labor reporting, and reconciliations
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies while supporting compliance with wage, tax, garnishment, and reporting requirements
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of payroll experience required
- Paycom HRIS experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, deductions, garnishments, and compliance requirements
- High attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and deadline-management skills
