Accounting Project Manager

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a dynamic organization with multiple brands to find an Accounting Project Manager. An ideal candidate will be results-driven and detail-oriented, with strong accounting experience in acquisitions and system implementations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on driving meaningful change and thrives in a project-focused accounting environment rather than a traditional cyclical role.


Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, with a focus on ASC 842 Leases
  • Experience integrating finance processes during acquisitions
  • Working knowledge of financial systems, ideally NetSuite


Preferred:

  • CPA certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with technical accounting research
  • Familiarity with business insurance renewals and sales tax projects
  • Ability to train and develop staff
