NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a healthcare organization to identify multiple Insurance Verification Specialists in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. These contract-to-hire opportunities are 100% remote and will focus on verifying complex patient insurance coverage, resolving benefit discrepancies, and ensuring accurate eligibility for ongoing medical treatments.

This position is ideal for an experienced insurance verification professional who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys investigating complex coverage issues, and can work independently with exceptional accuracy and accountability.

Required:

• 2+ years of hands-on medical insurance verification experience, preferably within a large healthcare organization or centralized billing operation.
• Strong working knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, Affordable Care Act plans, and Marketplace insurance.
• Experience researching complex benefits, coordination of coverage, authorization requirements, eligibility dates, and insurance-related claim discrepancies.
• Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills with the ability to independently resolve issues and maintain accurate documentation.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads remotely while meeting productivity expectations, deadlines, and quality standards.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting complex or ongoing medical treatments, including chronic care, specialty services, or oncology.
• Familiarity with in-network and out-of-network benefits, HMO/PPO plans, and coinsurance.
• Exposure to VA, military, or other specialized government healthcare coverage.
• Experience using insurance clearinghouse platforms and intermediate Excel skills, including sorting, formatting, and basic formulas.
• Stable employment history with demonstrated success in long-term, high-volume healthcare operations.
