Associate, Data Governance

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Associate to develop and implement data governance policies that ensure the integrity, security, and effective use of data across our organization. This role will drive governance initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leadership to maintain compliance with data standards and enhance core systems. The ideal candidate will focus on optimizing data quality, regulatory compliance, and overall data management practices—with potential leadership responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead data governance and Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, working cross-functionally to promote best practices.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve data governance metrics and performance across the organization.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff on data governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to optimize data management tools, processes, and systems in alignment with governance standards.
  • Support the management and enhancement of core systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS, and case management tools like Filevine).
  • Assist in the integration of data management software and tools, including Palantir, Data Sentinel, Qlik, and ETL solutions.
  • Potentially lead a team to ensure the efficient execution of data governance initiatives and maintain the overall quality of data systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data governance, MDM, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm environment (preferred, not required).
  • Exposure to case management systems like Filevine is a plus.
  • Proficiency with data management tools such as Palantir, Data Sentinel, Qlik, and ETL solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Previous management experience is highly desirable.
