NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a dynamic organization to find a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist – Lead. An ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing accounts payable functions, mentoring team members, and improving processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting systems and compliance standards.

Required:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 10+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including supervisory or lead responsibilities
• Proficiency with major ERP/accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
• Working knowledge of GAAP, 1099 rules, and internal control principles

Preferred:

• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes
• Familiarity with audit preparation and AP compliance reporting
